A prospective social media client asked me this week, “how much do you tweet?”
My response? Having high popularity scores and constant tweeting does not mean one is effective at the BUSINESS of social media. That’s like assuming people who eat out a lot know how to run a restaurant.
We believe in promoting our clients, not ourselves. We think in far more than 140 characters. We are business people and view the expert application of social media as a tool to accomplish business goals, not a final destination.
If your social media “consultant” touts his or her popularity and activity online (“Look at all my tweets, everyone loves me!”) perhaps you should wonder how they’ll have time to serve you, and whether they even can.
