In the past weeks we’ve all been flooded with emails and scary news, much of it causing angst and confusion. Yes, this is pretty awful. But we will get through it. We will be temporarily banged up, but we will definitely get through it, together.
We’re seeing the effects out in the field. From a compliance perspective, we have noticed a significant increase in claims around the terms “Coronavirus” and “COVID-19” and other virus-related terms and have already added these keywords across all FieldWatch™ client programs. Indeed, the online noise and off-policy behavior is likely to grow as the field adapts and adjusts to new ways working.
We need to continue to ensure that the chaos of today doesn’t come back to haunt us tomorrow when this crisis eventually blows over. As always, our goal is to help protect your company and executives from online threats. Even though sales will retract, and businesses will hunker down, we believe once everyone acknowledges our new normal, we will all get back to doing what we know.
This includes field reps and customers. In fact, I believe field reps may find the “ultimate gig” of direct selling to be a more viable option today than other gigs like Uber which require in person service. Unlike rideshare and delivery services, direct selling can be virtual. We are a work-from-home industry. Can we imagine that direct selling might be a lifeline to new entrants who are forced to work at home? It’s possible.
